Copywriting rates

Every published price we could find for one landing page of 500 to 800 words, from $10 Fiverr packages to specialists who publish only minimums, converted to the same spec with the arithmetic beside it.

Key takeaways
  • 01Copywriting rates for one landing page ran from $10 to $10,000 across the 53 seller prices we could compare. The middle marketplace package is $110 and the middle independent specialist $1,375, more than twelve times as much for the same page.
  • 02Only one offer we read names a briefing call, a single page and two revision rounds: Copywriting Union's $1,200 Essentials. CopywriterLabs sells a landing page at the same $1,200 with one round, so compare the scope line before the price.
  • 03Senior specialists publish minimums, not page prices. Rob Palmer starts at $10K for a single asset, Lianna Patch charges $15K for four pages plus email series, and Joel Klettke expects at least $30,000 a project.
  • 04Identical package text sells under two names. The 600-word tier is $285 from a Fiverr seller and $100 from a different seller on Upwork, its title and description word for word the same.
  • 05Upwork's hourly and package prices do not reconcile. Its median hourly range of $19 to $45, over the 13 hours one worked example gives a page, is $247 to $585; its median landing page package is $100. Either the packages hold far fewer hours, or sellers price them below their own rate.

Search copywriting rates and the top five US results are a 2022 Reddit thread, one writer's own prices, the EFA's rate chart, Upwork's hourly guide and a Mediabistro table. Only the table gives a landing page figure, and the AWAI survey it names as a source is email-gated, so we could not trace its figures.

So this page prices one thing: conversion copy for one landing page of 500 to 800 words, with a briefing call, research into the product and its buyers, a draft and two rounds of revisions. Whole-site copy and email sequences get pages of their own, and blog posts already have one. Every price was read at its source on 12 October 2026, in US dollars.

Most copywriting pricing is per word or per hour. Per-word prices are converted at 650 words, the middle of the spec, and hourly rates at 13 hours, the per-task figures in the Clever Copywriting School's 2022 worked example applied to one page. No survey measures the hours a page takes, so treat every hourly row as an estimate.

The price, by route

Copywriting rates, route by route

Each bar runs from the cheapest to the most expensive published price we read for this route, normalised to the same spec. The dot is the middle price. The axis is logarithmic: each gridline is ten times the one before.

In-house is not sampled. It uses the salary data for writers and authors (May 2025 US national median, Bureau of Labor Statistics, $76,910 base), loaded at 1.3x and divided by 6 to 12 landing pages a month. At 13 hours a page, the per-task figures in the Clever Copywriting School's 2022 worked example, a working month of about 173 hours holds about 13 pages. The range runs from 12, a month of nothing else, down to 6, which leaves half the month for the rest of the job.

    2026-10-12

How the marketplace prices were drawn: Fiverr: search 'landing page copywriting' (https://www.fiverr.com/search/gigs?query=landing%20page%20copywriting), default 'Relevance' sort, 5,300+ results, read 2026-10-12 in a real Chrome window over the DevTools protocol with Fiverr's currency cookie set to USD. Took listing positions 1 to 35 in order, one gig per seller (a seller's later gigs skipped), which gave 26 sellers. Skip rule: a gig selling page design or build rather than copy (2 skipped: yasser_dib at position 13, shahriar__khan at 16). For each of the 24 remaining gigs I read the 'Compare packages' table (ticks read from the icon markup) and counted the CHEAPEST package that delivers one whole landing or sales page of 500 words or more, or a whole page where no word count is stated; a package described as a section, 'short' copy or several pieces does not count. Revisions, research and delivery are recorded as published and are not required, because almost no package states a briefing call. 22 of 24 produced a figure. Fiverr's listing data marks 10 of the 26 positions read as promoted (paid) placements, 8 of them among the 24 gigs kept; they are kept, because a buyer sees them, and flagged per row. Upwork Project Catalog: search 'landing page copywriting' (https://www.upwork.com/services/search?q=landing%20page%20copywriting), default sort, read the same day the same way; positions 1 to 14 opened, one skipped by rule (position 5, Edgar G., offers About/FAQ/Store/Home/Product/Contact pages and no landing page), 13 counted using the lowest tier of 500+ words (or the tier described as a landing page where no word count is given). Contra: one listing found by web search, flagged as not a sample. All marketplace prices exclude buyer fees.

Not a criticism. Quoting per project is normal when the work varies. It does mean the ranges above describe the providers who publish, and the ones who do not are rarely the cheapest.

What moves the price

Why one landing page costs 1,000 times another

How much buyer research the writer does before writing a word.

  1. 01

    Research before the first word

The step most packages price separately. Fiverr seller ivacopyhouse adds competitor research only from its $400 package, double its $200 Basic, and Kosta A. sells it on Upwork for $99.99. Gill Andrews' $2,900 page starts with customer feedback, visitor behaviour and competitor pages; Copywriting Union's $1,200 with a 30-minute kickoff call.

    ivacopyhouse on Fiverr
  2. 02

What the page has to sell

A page that collects an email address and a page that sells directly are priced as different jobs. Bob Bly's schedule puts a squeeze page at $1,250 to $1,500, a medium-copy landing page at $3,500 to $5,500 and a long-copy one at $6,500 to $8,500. CopywriterLabs charges $1,200 for a landing page and $2,750 for a longer sales page.

Bob Bly fee schedule, July 2022
  3. 03

    Revision rounds

At the same $1,200, Copywriting Union includes two rounds and CopywriterLabs one. Lower down, Upwork seller Sayed Md. includes none in a $49 page and sells each extra revision for $49, so a second draft doubles the price.

    CopywriterLabs pricing
  4. 04

Design and build in the bundle

Some sellers price the page, not the words. Fiverr seller ecomgeeksagency charges $55 for the copy and $95 with design, and Jef van de Graaf's $599 sprint is a page written and built. Take the build out before comparing a bundle with a copy-only price.

    ecomgeeksagency on Fiverr
  5. 05

    Rush delivery

Speed is sold as an extra. Fiverr seller emmaki adds $200 to its $150 package for delivery in one day instead of five, and $350 to its $500 package for two days instead of seven. Upwork seller Muhammad Naseem S. charges $50 for fast delivery.

    Seniority, until single pages stop

Content Estate's 2021 survey of 19 writers put a 500-word landing page at $100 to $200 for beginners and $400 to $700+ for experts. Above that, specialists stop pricing pages at all: Rob Palmer's engagements start at $10K for a single asset, and Joel Klettke expects at least $30,000 a project.

Building it with AI

What the machine costs, and what it does not

Five current models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google would draft this page for 54 cents to $2.70 of compute, on our token estimate. Copy tools sell seats instead: Copy.ai from $24 a month billed yearly, Anyword from $39 and Jasper from $59. The receipt prices one mid-range model, then the hours a person still spends.

What AI cannot do here
  • Know which objection stops your buyers on a sales call
  • Interview your customers for the words they actually use
  • Check a claim against proof nobody has given it
  • Decide which offer the page is for and which traffic it will meet

Doing it yourself

What a landing page takes to do yourself

No survey measures a whole landing page. The EFA's 2026 chart puts professional business writing at about 0.6 to 1.7 hours for 650 words, and the Clever Copywriting School's 2022 example gives a page about 13 hours from briefing to proofread. The hours below are our estimate for doing it yourself, and the draft itself is one task of six.

Editorial estimate

No independent survey measures this, so the hours are our editorial estimate.

At the same loaded rate as an in-house hire ($48 an hour), your 9 to 18 hours are worth $433 to $865.

Agency vs freelancer vs fractional vs in-house

Cost is one row of six. I write conversion copy only inside an engagement, so the fractional column loses the rows about buying one page quickly and earns its place where the question is what each page is for.

Where the quote and the invoice come apart

Each of these is visible on a published price list, linked where it is.

01

The card price buys a fragment

Marketplace cards show the smallest tier. Fiverr seller jakeeck's card reads 'From $85', which buys 150 words of ad copy, and abrarabbas1's 'From $5' buys 200 words. The first package of each that reaches 500 words costs $285 and $20.

jakeeck on Fiverr
02

The design is priced and the copy is not

WebFX publishes $1,125, $1,875 and $3,000 for one landing page, and on all three tiers the copywriting cost reads 'By Quote'. A page that looks fully priced publishes every line except the words.

03

Same words, two sellers, two prices

The tier described as '600 words that'll poke more holes in their objections than SpongeBob' is $285 from Fiverr seller jakeeck and $100 from Upwork seller Aduragbemi A. The shorter tiers match word for word too, at $85 and $155 on Fiverr against $30 and $70 on Upwork.

Aduragbemi A. on Upwork
04

Fees on top of the package

Fiverr adds a 5.5% service fee, plus $3.50 on orders under $200. On a $25 package that is $4.88, nearly a fifth of the price. Upwork adds a contract initiation fee of $0.99 to $14.99. Every marketplace price on this page excludes them.

Recommended services that have gone

A 'top 10 landing page copy services' list still sends readers to Semrush's content marketplace, which now redirects to the Semrush homepage; Writing Studio, now an academic writing app; TextRoyal, whose domain serves an unrelated site; and Copify, whose pricing page returns a 404.

Prices with an expiry date

Bob Bly's fee schedule says it is 'current as of July 2022 and valid for 90 days', and Jef van de Graaf's $599 page is an 'October offer: ends October 31'. Both are counted and flagged, because they are the prices each still publishes. Get the price in writing on the day you buy.

The cost of doing nothing

What not having it costs, in your numbers rather than ours

Without a page written for the offer, every visit an ad buys lands somewhere less suited, and only your ad and analytics reports can say what that costs. Here is where it shows up, and a sum to do with those reports.

  • Ads land on a page about everything

Paid traffic arrives wherever the ad points. When that is the homepage or a general service page, it argues for the whole company rather than the offer the visitor clicked, so the visitor has to find the offer, and every click that leaves was still paid for.

  • Nothing to test

Page builders can split traffic between two versions, but only once a second headline, opening or call to action has been written. Without the variant copy, the traffic arrives and teaches you nothing.

  • Objections answered one call at a time

Price, risk, switching effort and proof come up on every sales call. A page that never answers them leaves sales to answer them by hand, and buyers who never book a call leave with the objection still open.

How I price it

Why there is no per-piece price from me

busyless runs on a retainer. A Fractional Head of Content, from $5,000 a month and month to month, owns the system: which channels we bet on, the editorial standard, customer interviews, the conversion path and the monthly report.

Production sits underneath as execution capacity, from $2,000 a month, through agents I have built or people I manage. We make as much as growth needs, so a price per piece would measure the count rather than whether it worked.

Most clients start with Discovery: two weeks and $2,500 for the diagnosis and a 90-day plan, theirs to keep either way.

FAQ

Frequently asked

  • Why do quotes for one landing page run from $10 to $10,000?
Because the price follows the work done before writing, not the word count. A $10 Fiverr package is 500 words to your brief; Copywriting Union's $1,200 starts with a kickoff call; Gill Andrews' $2,900 starts with customer feedback, visitor behaviour and competitor pages; Rob Palmer's $10K floor buys a direct-response specialist. Revisions, page type and rush delivery move the price too, but less.
  • What does a $100 marketplace landing page leave out?
Usually the call and often the research. Almost none of the marketplace packages we read names a briefing call, and several sell research only on a dearer tier or as an add-on: Kosta A. on Upwork charges $99.99 for competitor research, more than his $79.99 page. Check the revision count as well, because two of the Upwork tiers we counted include none.
  • Why don't Upwork's hourly rates match its landing page packages?
Nothing published explains it. Upwork's own contract data puts median hourly rates for copywriters at $19 to $45, which over 13 hours comes to $247 to $585 a page. The median landing page package across the 13 Upwork tiers we counted is $100. Either the packages hold far fewer hours than research and two revision rounds take, or sellers price them below their own hourly rate.
  • How many hours go into one landing page?
The writing is quick: the EFA's 2026 chart puts business and marketing writing at 1.5 to 4.5 pages of 250 words an hour, about 0.6 to 1.7 hours for 650 words. The rest is the job. The Clever Copywriting School's worked example gives briefing, research, two revision rounds and proofreading about 13 hours for a page.
  • Can an AI tool write a landing page on its own?
It can write the words for under three dollars of model time on the five models we priced, on our token estimate. It cannot interview your customers or know which objection stops them buying. Gathering that, briefing the model, checking every claim and rewriting takes five to nine hours on our estimate, which at an in-house rate brings one page to $241 to $433.
  • What should a freelancer charge for one landing page?
If you are setting your own copywriter rates, the survey rows are the nearest benchmark. Content Estate's 2021 survey of 19 writers put a 500-word landing page at $200 to $400 for proficient writers and $400 to $700+ for experts. The EFA's 2026 chart gives 32.0 to 87.5 cents a word for business writing, about $208 to $569 at 650 words.
  • At what volume does hiring a writer beat buying landing pages?
When new pages launch every week. A writer at the US median for writers and authors, $76,910, costs $8,332 a month once loaded for payroll and benefits. At 6 to 12 pages a month, the in-house copywriter cost works out at $694 to $1,389 a landing page, before the months it takes to hire. At a page or two a month, every route below the specialists' minimums costs less.
  • Does busyless write landing pages?
Yes, inside an engagement, and never priced by the page. Conversion is one of the layers I own as a fractional Head of Content, from $5,000 a month: what each page is for, which traffic it meets and whether it worked. The pages are written through production from $2,000 a month. If you only need one landing page, the routes on this page are the way to buy it.
