NO-BS Marketplace review

Marketplace · Sheridan, Wyoming, United States

Reviewed by Eugene SuslovRead September 2026No affiliate links

This directory set out expecting to find agencies that quietly buy links and marketplaces that pretend not to. The research found the opposite, and NO-BS is the clearest example of it.

It states that a placement price is the publisher's price plus a platform fee, and shows both before you pay. Then it publishes the argument that follows: when an agency invoices ten links for $4,000, the buyer has no way to know whether those links cost $60 or $320 each. That gap is the largest variable in the category and the one almost nobody prints.

Across the 33 specialists checked for this directory, every marketplace states that placements are paid for, and not a single agency does. Seven agencies say explicitly that they do not pay. Fifteen say nothing at all. The businesses treating the transaction most openly are the ones a buyer is most often warned about.

Our scorecard

An editorial read across six dimensions, scored against the other 32 specialists in this directory. Not an aggregate of user reviews, and deliberately kept out of this page's structured data. Note that the third-party score below is the lowest here and is reported as read.

  • Cost transparency5/5

Publisher fee and platform fee itemised separately before checkout.

  • Candour about the category5/5

Publishes the markup problem instead of relying on it.

  • Guarantee specificity4/5

Twelve months, defined remedy, and a stated exclusion rather than silence.

  • Quality gate1/5

None. The inventory runs the full range and filtering is yours.

  • Entry cost5/5

No minimum, no setup fee, $150 credited on verification.

  • Third-party standing2/5

Trustpilot 2.3 from 21 reviews. Small sample, but the lowest here.

Who NO-BS Marketplace is for

Buyers who want to see the price of the thing they are buying rather than the price of somebody arranging it. If you already know what a placement is worth, buying at cost plus a visible fee is straightforwardly cheaper than buying at an unstated markup.

It is the wrong shape for anyone who wants the judgement. There is no editorial gate here beyond the buyer's own: the inventory runs the full range and the site says so.

Strengths and limits

What it does well

  • The publisher's fee and the platform's cut are shown separately before checkout, which no agency in this directory does
  • Publishes the markup problem directly rather than benefiting from it
  • A twelve-month live-link guarantee with a defined remedy and a stated exclusion, which is more specific than most
  • No retainer, no setup fee and no minimum order, with $150 credited to a new account
  • Says out loud what its cheapest inventory is worth, rather than implying every listing is good

Where it falls short

  • No committed quality floor at all. The inventory spans the full range and the filtering is yours to do
  • Its Trustpilot score is 2.3 from 21 reviews, the lowest of anything checked for this directory
  • Refuses to publish the full site list publicly, on the stated grounds that a public list is one competitors buy from too
  • The guarantee measures the authority band at order time, so a publisher that declines afterwards is not a covered event

NO-BS Marketplace pricing

There is no entry price, because every publisher sets its own and the platform adds a visible fee on top. The company publishes a market-rate guide instead, and stresses that the guide is its read of the category rather than its own rate card.

Those figures put a link insertion on a small niche site at $50 to $120, a guest post on a low-traffic blog at $60 to $180, a mid-tier site with real readership at $200 to $500, an established publication with editorial staff at $500 to $1,500, and a listicle placement in a best-of roundup at $250 to $800.

The managed service starts at $1,000 a month, and the important detail is that this is a budget spent on placements rather than a fee charged on top of them. That distinction is the whole argument, and it is one a buyer cannot make about most of the agencies in this directory, because they do not disclose it.

What it says about paying publishers

Openly sells paid placements

The placement price is the publisher's price plus our fee, both visible before checkout.

On target sites: you approve the sites first.

This records what NO-BS Marketplace publishes about itself, read in September 2026. It is not an assessment of what the company does, and a published denial is not proof of one either.

Limits and exclusions

  • No editorial gate. Quality filtering is the buyer's responsibility
  • The full catalogue is not public and requires a free account
  • The authority band is fixed at order time and later movement is excluded from the guarantee

Third-party reviews

Scores read from each source on 2026-09-16. We report them as-is and publish no rating of our own.

Reported as read. Twenty-one reviews is a small sample and this score sits against a large number of named testimonials on the company's own site. We publish no rating of our own and draw no conclusion from either source.

Verdict

Buy here if you can do your own quality filtering and you would rather pay a visible fee than an invisible markup. Seeing the publisher's price next to the platform's cut is something no agency in this directory offers, and once you know what a placement is worth, that transparency is worth real money.

Do not buy here if you want the judgement. There is no editorial gate, the inventory runs the whole range, and the company says plainly that its cheapest listings are worth little. That candour is the reason to trust it and also the reason it cannot do the thinking for you.

Weigh the Trustpilot score honestly. It is 2.3 from 21 reviews, the lowest of anything checked here. That is a small sample and it sits against a wall of named testimonials on their own site, so it settles nothing either way, but it is a reason to start with one placement rather than a budget.

NO-BS Marketplace FAQ

  • Does NO-BS Marketplace pay publishers for placements?
Yes, and it says so directly: the placement price is the publisher's price plus the platform's fee, with both visible before checkout. Across 33 specialists checked for this directory, every marketplace states this and no agency does.
  • Is buying from a marketplace worse than hiring an agency?
It is a different purchase rather than a worse one. A marketplace sells you the placement at a visible price; an agency sells you the judgement about which placement to buy, usually at an unstated markup. If you already know what you want, the markup is the thing you are paying for.
  • Why is the NO-BS Trustpilot score so low?
It stands at 2.3 from 21 reviews, the lowest of any provider checked for this directory, and it sits against a large set of named testimonials on the company's own site. Twenty-one reviews is a small sample and we draw no conclusion from it, but it is reported here rather than omitted.
  • What does the NO-BS guarantee actually cover?
Twelve months of live-link cover, with a dropped link replaced on a publisher of equal or better authority band, or refunded if no acceptable replacement exists within 30 days. The band is fixed at order time, so a publisher whose authority falls afterwards is explicitly not a covered event.
  • Does NO-BS vet the sites it sells?
It describes its publishers as human-vetted but commits to no quality floor, and states plainly that under $80 a placement you are buying from sites with negligible readership. The filtering is yours to do, which is the trade for seeing the real price.
  • Can you see the full site list before signing up?
No. The catalogue opens after a free signup with no card and no sales call, and the company refuses to publish the whole list publicly on the stated grounds that a public list of every site and price is one competitors buy from too.

This is an independent review. NO-BS Marketplace is not a client or a partner, we have no affiliate relationship with them, we earn nothing if you hire them, and nobody pays for placement in the directory. Prices were read from the company's own pages in September 2026 and change without notice.
