Prepr is a Dutch headless CMS whose distinguishing feature is that personalisation and A/B testing live in the content layer. Editors define variants and audiences in the CMS, and the API serves the right one, rather than the front end running an experimentation SDK.
For teams that would otherwise buy a separate experimentation tool, that consolidation is the argument.
Who Prepr CMS is for
Marketing and ecommerce teams that want personalisation without a second vendor and a front-end SDK.
Expensive if you will not use the personalisation, which is most of what you are paying for.
Strengths and limits
What it does well
- Personalisation and A/B testing built into the content model, which removes an entire integration.
- REST and GraphQL both supported.
- A free Community tier that allows genuine evaluation with 3 users.
- European hosting, which simplifies some data residency conversations.
Where it falls short
- The Community tier's 200 content items is very tight.
- Flex at €299 a month billed annually is a large jump, and add-ons stack on top.
- Add-ons are numerous: premium support at €300, advanced search at €100, extra bandwidth at €80 and more locales at €125 a month.
- Smaller ecosystem than the better-known platforms.

Flex is €299 a month billed annually with 1 user included and up to 35 at €15 each, 50,000 content items, unlimited models, 150GB of assets and 2 development environments. Enterprise is custom with multi-site management and usage-based pricing.
Add-ons: premium support €300 a month, advanced search €100, extra bandwidth from €80, and additional locales €125.
Verdict
Worth shortlisting specifically if personalisation is a requirement, because having it in the content layer is cleaner than any front-end SDK arrangement.
If it is not, you are paying €299 a month for a competent CMS, and Storyblok or Prismic will do that for much less.
