Contember is a TypeScript backend that generates a GraphQL API from a schema you define in code, with an admin interface you assemble from React components rather than one that is generated for you. The engine is Apache-2.0.
That extra assembly step is the trade: more work than Strapi, more control than almost anything else at this size.

TypeScript teams building content-backed applications who want to design the admin experience deliberately rather than accept a generated one.
Overkill for a marketing site.

What it does well

Verdict
A thoughtful option for TypeScript teams who care about the editorial interface enough to build it, and the Apache-2.0 licence is clean.
If you want a working admin on day one, Payload does that and more.
