Design Pickle review

Design Pickle, founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, now sells capacity in creative hours rather than as one flat plan. Every account starts with a Platform plan, Base or Pro, and adds creative services from two hours per business day, scaling to twelve or more. A production coordinator is included from four hours a day.

No prices are published. The pricing page offers a 30-minute consultation, after which the team sends a plan and a flat-rate price. A help article dated June 2026 lists two billing periods, quarterly and annual, although another FAQ page on the site still mentions month-to-month billing.

Scope covers graphic design, illustration, motion, presentations, video editing and Canva templates. UI and UX design, app design, wireframes and coded websites are outside it; web work is design only.

Who Design Pickle is for

Marketing teams and agencies with a steady flow of social, ad, print and presentation work, who want output sized in hours and a production coordinator once they reach four hours a day. The official Canva partnership suits teams whose staff publish from Canva templates.

Product teams needing interface design will find UI, UX and app work listed as out of scope, and buyers who want to compare prices before a call will not find any.

Strengths and limits

What it does well

  • Deliverables are work made for hire under the terms, with a fallback assignment of all rights to the client
  • Capacity is stated in daily creative hours, with published examples of what 2, 3 and 4 hour plans produce in a day and a week
  • A Base or Pro Platform plan keeps the asset library and request history available even without an active creative service
  • Canva template creation and file conversion are included with creative services at no extra cost

Where it falls short

  • No price is published anywhere on the site; the number arrives after a consultation
  • Billing is quarterly or annual, and the terms rule out refunds for unused time
  • At the entry level, creatives work on one request at a time unless more hours are added
  • UI and UX design, app design and website coding are outside the stated scope

Design Pickle pricing

Design Pickle publishes the structure but no figures. An account pairs a Platform plan, Base with up to five users or Pro with unlimited users and white labelling, with creative services sold in hours per business day, starting at two. Production coordinators are included from four hours a day.

The pricing page calls the result flat-rate, not hourly, and says the number is set on the call. Plans renew quarterly or annually. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and the terms rule out refunds for partial months, downgrades or unused time.

Who does the work

Does not say who does the work

We found nothing on its site or in its terms about whether the designers are employees or freelancers. That is recorded as silence, not as a finding against the company. Ask before the first invoice.

This records what Design Pickle publishes about itself, read in September 2026. It is not an assessment of what the company does in practice.

Verdict

Design Pickle is built for a marketing team with a predictable weekly load of social posts, ads, decks and print, which would rather buy a fixed number of design hours each day than a request queue. The published day and week output examples make it possible to estimate what an hour plan produces before the sales call.

Price comparison is impossible from the site alone, and the quarterly minimum means a first commitment of at least three months before any number is known. Teams needing UI, app screens or a coded site should note that all three are excluded from scope.
