Plasmic is a visual builder first and a CMS second. Designers and marketers work in a Figma-like canvas, and what comes out is real React components you import into your codebase, optionally wired to your own components and data.
A headless CMS is included on every tier, which makes it a plausible single tool for a marketing site where design velocity matters more than content modelling.

Teams where design and marketing want to ship pages without a developer in the loop, and the front end is React.
Not the right choice if you need serious content modelling or a non-React front end.

What it does well
- The canvas is genuinely good, and the output is real React rather than an embedded iframe or a proprietary runtime.

Where it falls short
- React only, which is a hard constraint.
- The CMS is a secondary feature and shallow compared with any dedicated content platform here.
- Pricing is per-collaborator with tier caps, and Scale at $399 a month arrives quickly for a mid-sized team.
- Visual builders always risk a codebase where nobody is sure whether a page lives in the repo or the canvas.

Starter is $39 a month billed yearly for 3 collaborators and removes Plasmic branding. Pro is $103 a month billed yearly for 4 to 10 collaborators and adds priority support and unlimited AI. Scale is $399 a month billed yearly for 8 to 30 collaborators and adds content creator mode, A/B testing, scheduled content and custom targeting. Enterprise is custom with SSO and white labelling.
Verdict
A strong tool for design-led marketing teams on React who want to ship pages at speed, and the free tier is generous enough to prove that quickly.
Do not pick it as your CMS. Pair it with a real content platform if the site has structured content, and be clear as a team about where the source of truth for a page lives.
