Design Shifu review
Graphic design, Branding, Social media
Design Shifu is run by Design Sensei LLC, whose terms give a registered address in Sheridan, Wyoming, and its careers page advertises full-time, on-site design roles in India and Indonesia. It sells graphic design, from logos and decks to ads, print and web layouts, with two dedicated designers and an account manager on every plan and delivery six days a week.
Three plans are priced for one project per day in active production: Starter at $549, Growth at $749 and Scale at $1,099 a month. A counter on the pricing page adds projects up to five, which takes Scale to $5,079. Annual billing charges ten months for twelve. The current prices took effect on 1 July 2026.
The plans differ in scope more than the headline suggests. Starter covers graphic design and illustration only, Growth adds website and UI/UX design and email templates, and Scale adds Webflow or Framer development. The FAQ, however, still says it does no development work, and motion design is marked as coming soon.
Who Design Shifu is for
Marketing teams that want a quick daily rhythm of graphics without a hire, and agencies that put design out under their own brand. Delivery six days a week and a published price for every step from one to five projects per day make it easy to size.
Web teams should look at Scale rather than Starter, since Starter covers only graphic design and illustration, and anyone counting on the refund should read its conditions first.
Strengths and limits
What it does well
- Publishes monthly and annual prices for every plan and every step from one to five projects per day
- Defines a project per day plainly in both its FAQ and its terms: the number of requests in active production at once
- Its terms make approved deliverables and source files the client's property on full payment, and plan cards list full copyright and IP transfer
- Works Monday to Saturday with most requests delivered within 24 hours, by its own account
Where it falls short
- The 14-day refund is void if you approve any request or ask for source files, and needs two rounds of feedback and a call
- Its FAQ says it does no development work while the Scale plan lists Webflow and Framer development
- Motion design is marked as coming soon on the pricing cards, though motion and GIF work appear in its service lists
- It does not say whether designers are employees or contractors on its service pages, and its terms say turnaround is not guaranteed
Design Shifu pricing
At one project per day, Starter is $549, Growth $749 and Scale $1,099 a month, shown against struck-through prices of $799, $999 and $1,299. Annual billing is ten months' fees, which works out at $458, $625 and $916 a month. Each extra project per day raises the price, up to five: Starter reaches $2,534, Growth $3,459 and Scale $5,079.
The terms set a 14-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers, with strict conditions. Subscribers from before July 2026 keep older prices for a limited time, lost on any pause, plan change or failed payment.
How many at once, whose files, whose hands
How many requests run at once
Publishes a cap on active requests
“If you're on a 1 project/day plan, we work on one project at a time. With a higher projects/day plan, two or more tasks can be worked on in parallel, speeding up delivery.”
Who owns the files and the rights
Says the work and its rights are yours
“Upon full payment: Final approved deliverables and source files become the property of the client”
Who does the work
Does not say who does the work
We found nothing on its site or in its terms about whether the designers are employees or freelancers. That is recorded as silence, not as a finding against the company. Ask before the first invoice.
This records what Design Shifu publishes about itself, read in September 2026. It is not an assessment of what the company does in practice.
Verdict
Agencies and marketing teams that want graphics turned round within a day, six days a week, get a published price for every level of throughput here. The definition of a project per day is clear, and the terms hand over approved files and source files on payment.
The plan cards reward a careful read: Starter excludes web and UI work, the FAQ contradicts the development offer on Scale, and motion is not yet live. The refund conditions are tight enough that the first two weeks should be treated as paid.
This is an independent review. Design Shifu is not a client or a partner, we have no affiliate relationship with them, we earn nothing if you hire them, and nobody pays for placement in the directory. Prices were read from the company's own pages in September 2026 and change without notice.
