Design Buffs review
Presentations, Marketing design, Graphic design · Reading, England, UK · Since 2019
Design Buffs is run by CKP Ventures Ltd, registered in England and Wales with an address in Reading. Its founder says he started it in 2019 after heading marketing at B2B software companies. It sells day-to-day marketing design to B2B software and technology brands, and says plainly that it is not built for rebrands or flagship campaigns.
What each plan guarantees is design capacity. Essential gives 40 hours a month for $1,500 and Growth 80 hours for $2,800. Both include a dedicated team of creative project managers and designers, unlimited revisions and delivery through Google Drive with source files. Webflow design and development is a $999 monthly add-on that needs a design subscription.
Its terms, last updated in June 2023, keep the intellectual property in the deliverables with the company. The client gets a permanent, non-exclusive licence, which it may sublicense to its own customers. The newest blog posts shown are from September 2025.
Who Design Buffs is for
Marketing teams at B2B software companies that produce a steady flow of decks, one-pagers, social and launch graphics, and would rather buy guaranteed hours than an open request queue. Its delivery sheet suggests two to three marketing designs a day on Essential.
Brands planning a rebrand are pointed elsewhere by the founder's own note, and any buyer who needs outright ownership of the files should raise the licence clause before signing.
Strengths and limits
What it does well
- Publishes both plan prices with monthly, quarterly and yearly rates, and the price of the Webflow add-on
- Measures each plan in guaranteed hours of design capacity rather than an open-ended request count
- Publishes a delivery estimates sheet by plan and project type, such as 2 to 3 days for a UI design on Essential
- Focuses on B2B software and technology marketing, and names the work it is not built for: rebrands and flagship campaigns
Where it falls short
- Its terms keep the intellectual property in deliverables with Design Buffs and give the client a non-exclusive licence rather than ownership
- The pricing page says no contracts and cancel or pause any time, while its FAQ sets a three-month minimum commitment
- It does not say how many requests run at once or whether designers are employees or freelancers, and it does not guarantee the same designer
- The FAQ and delivery sheet mention a 20-hour plan the pricing page does not list, and the help centre link lands on a 'page not found' message
Design Buffs pricing
Essential is $1,500 a month for 40 hours of capacity and Growth $2,800 for 80 hours. Billed quarterly they are $1,400 and $2,600 a month, and billed yearly $1,238 and $2,310. Payment is taken monthly by card, or by invoice on quarterly and yearly terms. Webflow development adds $999 a month.
The FAQ sets a three-month minimum before a monthly plan can be cancelled, although the plan list says no contracts. The terms add notice periods of seven days on monthly plans and 30 days on quarterly and yearly ones. A comparison table on the pricing page prices 20 hours at $850, a plan it does not otherwise sell.
How many at once, whose files, whose hands
How many requests run at once
Does not say how many requests run at once
We found nothing on its site or in its terms about the number of requests that can be in progress at the same time. That is recorded as silence, not as a finding against the company. Ask before the first invoice.
Who owns the files and the rights
Says it keeps rights or grants a licence
“The Deliverables, except Customer Materials, will be the exclusive property of the Supplier and its licensors with respect to all Intellectual Property Rights”
Who does the work
Does not say who does the work
We found nothing on its site or in its terms about whether the designers are employees or freelancers. That is recorded as silence, not as a finding against the company. Ask before the first invoice.
This records what Design Buffs publishes about itself, read in September 2026. It is not an assessment of what the company does in practice.
Verdict
B2B SaaS marketing teams that live on decks, one-pagers and launch graphics get a service built around exactly that, sold as guaranteed hours with published delivery estimates. The founder's note that it is for day-to-day design, not rebrands, is a candid statement of scope.
The licence clause is the thing to read first: its terms leave the IP with Design Buffs, which matters to anyone reselling the work or building a brand on it. The three-month minimum, which contradicts the pricing page's no-contract line, and a help centre that returns an error both call for a written confirmation before signing.
This is an independent review. Design Buffs is not a client or a partner, we have no affiliate relationship with them, we earn nothing if you hire them, and nobody pays for placement in the directory. Prices were read from the company's own pages in September 2026 and change without notice.
