Outstation review

Runs it for you · Haywards Heath, United Kingdom

Outstation is John Phillips's cold email practice for event businesses, trading as Outstation Ltd from Haywards Heath. It registers secondary domains and mailboxes, sources and cleans prospect data in Clay, syncs it with HubSpot, and runs campaigns aimed at two outcomes: delegate registrations and sponsor revenue.

The site argues that event teams hit a volume ceiling in-house, and says its systems send 10,000 or more emails a day. It also runs re-engagement campaigns to old lists, with engaged contacts pushed back into the client's CRM for nurturing. Phillips holds Clay's 2025 Artisan certification, which the site displays prominently.

The results section claims a 12x average ROI and $800K of new revenue in seven months. Neither figure is attributed to a named client on the page, although two named testimonials, from Deep Tech Momentum and HLTH, sit directly above them.

Who Outstation is for

Conference, trade show and summit organisers that need to fill delegate places and sell sponsorship, and have burned a domain or a CRM trying to do it with bought data.

Registrations and sponsor revenue are how the site says it measures itself, so the team should measure success the same way.

Strengths and limits

What it does well

  • Specialises in one vertical, event brands, and covers both delegate and sponsor outreach.
  • Runs every campaign on secondary domains and isolated mailboxes, and says so in its FAQ.
  • States that it measures success by registrations and sponsorship revenue, not open or reply rates.
  • The founder holds Clay's 2025 Artisan certification, and the stack is named: Clay, Instantly and HubSpot.

Where it falls short

  • Infrastructure, data, copy and CRM sync can be bought separately, yet the site prices none of them and states no minimum term.
  • Ownership of the secondary domains and mailboxes it registers, once an engagement ends, is never addressed.
  • The 12x average ROI and $800K revenue figures are not attributed to a named client.
  • Outside events there is no stated specialism, so a buyer in another sector sits outside the site's own focus.

Outstation pricing

Outstation publishes no pricing. The FAQ says setup and first sends typically go live within two weeks. It also says some clients take the full stack while others mix and match infrastructure, data, copy and CRM sync.

Because the components can be taken separately, there is no single package to price against. Expect to scope volume and components on a call before seeing a number.

What you keep, and what counts as a result

Domains, inboxes, data and workflows

Does not say who owns the infrastructure

We found nothing on its site about whether the sending domains, inboxes, lists and workflows are yours when the engagement ends. That is the most common answer in this directory, and it is recorded as silence, not as a finding against the company. Ask before signing.

The unit of a result

Measures itself on pipeline

This records what Outstation publishes about itself, read in September 2026. It is not an assessment of what the company does in practice.

Verdict

Conference, summit and trade show organisers that need volume, need to protect their main domain and want outreach judged on registrations and sponsorship deals are the market Outstation is built around. A specialist in one vertical is more likely to know the event calendar, the buyers and the list sources than a generalist.

Sellers outside events fall outside its focus. The site also gives no published price and no written position on who owns the sending infrastructure, which leaves a buyer who wants both before a first call empty-handed.
